Emily’s outdoor headshot session at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley in Winchester, Virginia turned out to be such a fun and memorable shoot. It was a humid day with a few sprinkles of rain here and there, but we made the most of it and had an absolute blast capturing some fresh portraits for her.

Emily is a wedding and portrait photographer based in Winchester, VA, and we originally met through Shenandoah Wedding Professionals, a local wedding vendor networking group in the Shenandoah Valley. When she asked if I would take some photos for her, I didn’t hesitate—photographing portraits is something I truly love, especially when it’s for fellow creatives in the industry.

Fun little fact about this session—it actually took place on my birthday! And to be completely honest, there’s nothing I’d rather do on my birthday than be behind the camera. Creating images for friends, family, and clients that they’ll love and cherish for years to come is something I’m incredibly grateful to do.

Emily is also the creative behind The Photo and Flower Girl, where she combines her talents as both a wedding photographer and wedding florist—such a unique and beautiful combination for couples planning their wedding day.
